Hello!
First and foremost, I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Taunton, Somerset. The unfortunate events of the last few months have given me the opportunity to take a breath and catch up with some personal photography projects I have been working on. Prior to becoming a wedding photographer I enjoyed taking photographs of a wide range of subjects. Living in Somerset means I have some beautiful landscapes to photograph such as Glastonbury Tor, the Somerset Levels and Burrow Mump. I enjoy walking around the levels taking photographs of the landscapes. Of course, it is not all about the land. We are blessed with some fantastic wildlife on the Somerset Levels and the local nature reserves. Nature is another subject I love to photograph.
Another passion of mine is steam trains. Having the West Somerset Railway on my doorstep means I am often be found on one of the many stations or bridges with my son waiting for the train to come along. If I am not photographing a wedding on weekend I will also be found checking out the “Steam specials” that run from Bristol and beyond down to the West Country. I have seen several beautiful locomotives in recent years including the Flying Scotsman.
As Taunton is my home town I am also lucky to have the County Ground. Every cricket season I try to go a watch Somerset play some cricket. I can’t think of a better way to spend a lovely sunny afternoon: watching cricket, with a pint of Thatchers and my camera!
Finally, at the start of lockdown I looked for a photography project to enable me to “keep my eye in” since photographing people and weddings was not going to happen for some time. I have found Lego to be the answer! I have seen several Lego photograph images on Pinterest and have always wanted to have a go. This pause in normal life has given me the opportunity. Fortunately, as well as being into Lego my son also loves to take photographs. So we started a small project together whilst he has been off from school to create and photograph various Lego scenes. The results can
be found on my Lego gallery. I am hoping to carry on with the Lego photograph even when I can start photographing weddings and portraits again.
I hope you enjoy my images.
